A Type 01 Federal Firearms License authorizes the holder to deal in firearms — including handguns, rifles, and shotguns — and to conduct NICS background checks for firearm transfers to members of the public.
TACT 23 is authorized to accept firearms shipped to them for transfer and to conduct NICS background checks on behalf of the buyer.
The ATF eZ Check tool allows anyone — including dealers, distributors, and buyers — to instantly verify whether a Federal Firearms License is currently valid. Before shipping any firearm to TACT 23, use eZ Check to confirm their license is active and has not expired.
Per 27 CFR 478.94, a licensed dealer must obtain a copy of the FFL from the licensee they are shipping to before transferring any firearm. eZ Check provides real-time verification directly from ATF records.
